George Haines

Mr. International Grizzly Bear, 2010

George was born in the Midwest and grew up between the Chicago and St. Louis areas. His first involvement with the bear community was when he moved to St Louis in the late '90s and became a member of the Show Me Bears. This is where he came out of his shell and finally found a community that he felt very welcomed in, thanks to SMB .

About 7 years ago he moved to New York and joined the Metrobears NY. Over the next few years he immersed himself in the gay, leather, and bear community. He got involved with every charity, bear/leather event, run and group he could. He wanted to give back to the community who has given him so much. Being involved has taken him on travels all over the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, UK, France, Sweden, Brussels, and the Netherlands.

Last year he won Mr. Metrobear 2009 This is where he met his good friend JD Leggett (Mr. Metrocub). We went to IBR to help raise money for charities, represent the Metrobears NY, and have a good time.

He took his friends advice to be himself and was titled Mr. Intl Grizzly 2010. He was beside myself and felt so honored to be chosen.
